Carpe Diem

This is definitely my favourite place to eat. Amazing quality (everything is made with a lot of love). Really good portion sizes, and the service is always really good. I had the Chicken Valdostana off the specials menu which was superb, one of the best things I’ve ever had. The Kalamari Salad was excellent too. This place is something special.

This place is always super busy, which is no surprise to me. The staff here are so friendly and accommodating, it’s reasonably priced (costs less than a lot of other cafes in the local area), and the food was so delicious with great options on the menu. I would highly recommend this lovely little place. I will definitely be returning!

Carpe Diem Bistro is my favourite place to eat! I’ve been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating, they always go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a lovely community, family like vibe. As for the food.. it’s amazing! Always fresh, full of flavour and the portions are very generous. You can really tell that care goes into the cooking! I always leave Carpe Diem happy and full! Highly recommend! Keep up the great work!

Fatima and Maria are absolutely fantastic — they always remember my dietary requirements and make sure everything is perfect every single time. The service is consistently five-star, and the food is always fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. You can really feel the care and attention they put into everything. Definitely deserves a solid five stars — highly recommended!

Recommended by a friend in Whetstone. Very busy and lively place which is a good sign! The girls working there were very attentive and got us seated quickly. We ordered calamari to share for a starter which was incredible. Followed by chicken Milanese salad which was huge and had such an amazing variety in the salad, from fresh avocado to olives and sun-dried tomatoes.... All delicious!

Some restaurants fade with time, but Carpe Diem in Totteridge & Whetstone High Street is clearly not one of them. My recent Saturday brunch visit, five years after my last, proved that their culinary flame burns brighter than ever. The moment you step into Carpe Diem, its cosy, bustling atmosphere embraces you – a testament to its unwavering popularity. It was, predictably, full pack, a good sign of what was to come. My previous visit was marked by a memorable brunch, crafted by an Italian chef whose name, regrettably, escapes me. Today, that chef (surely the same one!) didn't just meet expectations; he surpassed them with an even more amazing rendition of his culinary artistry. The 'Carpe Med Breakfast' was a triumph: a generous plate laden with crisp bacon, flavourful chorizo sausage, perfectly golden hash browns, and surprisingly delightful falafel. The grilled halloumi and spicy beans added layers of savoury depth, beautifully complemented by the freshness of avocado and hummus. My choice of perfectly scrambled eggs completed this epicurean feast, served alongside toasted sourdough – a truly large size brunch which keeps you full for the whole day. No brunch is complete without the perfect accompaniment, and Carpe Diem delivered with a freshly squeezed orange juice and an amazing Italian coffee that transported me straight to a Roman piazza. The fact that such an incredible meal comes at a reasonable price is simply astonishing, making the perpetual queues entirely understandable. This was, without a doubt, a delightful experience, and I will definitely recommend and visit again – perhaps I'll try to get the chef's name this time! nick #doctorfoodielondon

Got the chicken escalope with fries. Definitely recommend. Crispy from the outside, tender from the inside! Ladies were fast with the service & welcoming for sure. It was a lovely sunny day, definitely enjoyed having my meal outdoors.
